About Me!
My name is Annie Erdmann. I grew up in Chicago Illinois, but currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am an Illustration major with a New Studio Practice/Fine Arts minor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. I’ve always been a creative person, always crafting and creating when I was younger and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. I love to mix sculpture into my illustrative work and create sculptures from my illustrations. I am always eager to learn how to use a new medium and incorporate it within my artwork. I am versatile with my use of traditional media such as acrylic paints, watercolors, colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, clay, ink, and many more mediums. I strive to make my work dynamic with my contrast and technical abilities and my goal is to bring joy and intrigue to others who see my work.
I’m always creating artwork for myself and the people around me. I love to experiment with new tools on my own time to learn new skills that I can apply to future projects. Some things I enjoy doing outside of my artistic practice are playing guitar hero and other video games, board games, and card games with my family and friends, watching mainly horror and crime movies, and always on the lookout for cool knick-knacks at thrift and antique stores.
In addition to her commercial work, she’s also currently documenting traditional food preparation techniques in Sardinia for a forthcoming book to be published by Maginot Press.
